VLC and CoreAVC

Is there a way for me to use the coreavc codec with VLC? I dont know why but wmp12 will get screwy video with 1080p mkv. I have the latest video card drivers and this wasent always an issue. anyway if there is a way to get VLC to use coreavc maybe that will fix any of the stuttering issues VLC used ...

ok thanks for your help guys. yeah i really didnt want to have to use mplayer but it seems for now that might be the only way to go.

also just thinking is there a way i can download another codec which will play HD h.264 files since the curent codec for vlc seems to be lacking and not able to use multi core? and if so is do i just drop it in a certain folder and replace a file?

hmm neither option seemed to make it run flawless. better but still not flawless. and inside win7 my ratings are
cpu: 6.0
ram: 6.0
graphics: 5.7
gaming graphics: 6.1

there really should be no lag. This is frusterating. Any other ideas on what it could be?

yeah i did that and it still seems to be having the issue. is there anything else i can try? one of the versions of vlc not sure it worked fine but for some reason not anymore.

VLC HD Playback

I have a Core 2 duo T9300 (2.5ghz) 3 gigs of ram and a nvidia 8600GT vid card and it seems any HD movie studders the playback. THe audio is fine but the video sucks. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this? I am running latest version of VLC and vista home premium.

How else you want it to be? A setting in the advanced preferences of the GUI might be a good idea. So we could run several versions of VLC at the same time, say the latest stable release and a nightly for testing purposes. Is there a reason why VLC always is crashing when i try to load files into the media library? its coming from a NAS drive but it works fine with foobar and winamp. Just get the playlist (Not responding) in vista.

If i could do all that i would:) i have 0 clue how to code. Just putting down some request i am sure many people would enjoy:). A good lightweight universal player would be great for everyone. Winamp is bloated now and lets not get started with WMP:)

I think i might just wait until they become more stable the two nighties i tried crashed a lot.

also this is slightly off-topic but is there a way for me to stream TVU streams or SOPCAST streams without installing the software for either?

Even with the nightlies if i goto hotkeys and select play/pause and then hit the key on the laptop it doesnt associate with that key.
