I have created a logger module modification that sends logger messages via UDP. It has 2 configuration params UDP port and IP destination.

I don´t know if it would be included to VLC.

Waiting your comments

Basically they are 2 NICs that works like a only NIC.

Both have the same IP but they are conected to diferent networks.

They are used in redundant systems, i could give you a model and more details if you want (but only in the next week)

Probably, with a Digital Video Input you will need more bandwith. If you have that bandwith (2Mbits) probably you will need a MPEG4 compression and transmission via RTSP or UDP. Your bitrate will not stay over 1Mbit/s (you have a stable 2 Mbits link?) and your resolution will be 352*288 with full fr...

The streams are not related with Dense Mode or Sparse Mode. You must configure your network (routers, switches,...) to send your stream to one destiny to another or let the routers do it for you (Sparse Mode). It is not trivial, you will reprogram your network until you get a good result. :( ...

VLC (in windows) loads all the modules that it has in plugins directory. I have deleted all the plugins until it can't be executed.

Finally it has only about 15Mbytes

minimal VLC

I would like to execute videolan to send streams over a network. Now, I launch it with dummy interface without windows.

I would like to know how could i minimize the amount of memory to execute the VLC (about 30Mbytes). I think that i could only load some modules.

Any advice?

My problem was that i have 2 network cards and only one must be able to send multicast packets. VLC when starts gets one NIC to use and you can change it.
