Ok, so I want to do something kinda complicated: "C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=[LinkFinder]" "--no-embedded-video" "--video-x=1940" "--video-y=730" "--qt-start-minimized" "--no-qt-updates...
Hi, is there any way to instruct VLC when transcoding to deinterlace AFTER having resized the video? Currently, it seems to work the other way around, which results in this: http://www.100fps.com/distortion1.jpg Edit: Ok, I just found out that it uses the correct order when using the canvas vfilter ...
Hi, I use VLC to stream over my network. However, I've noticed that unless I set bframes=0, the video gets jumpy. The more bframes, the more jumpy the video. e.g. imagine a news ticker at the bottom of the screen. If the station is showing a still or a graph (which results in lots of b-frames as the...
This originally was a post whining about lack of documentation and a question on how to chain various vfilters (like crop AND deintarlace). Naturally, I figured it out with trial and error 20 seconds after the original post. So, how to cain vfilters in 1.1.4 vfilter=deinterlace:croppadd{croptop=8,cr...
Hmm, i have set it to DirectX in the latest nightly, and in the Windows speaker settings, 5.1 is definatly selected. VLC will still default to Stereo every time a new file is opened. It's very annoying :/
I use 1.0.1 on Windows 7 RC. Everything works most of the time (some pixelated video aside, but I read it's ATI's fault), but there's one odd thing: When I load for example a mkv file that has a 5.1 DTS, AC3 or AAC Track, VLC will always choose Stereo as playback mode by default. I can manually set ...
x264 encoding should work in 1.0.0 in case you want to test it. So no need to do any reports. Just tried with most recent build and it doesn't, still same problem. Also, dvb-t does not work, but there is already a ticket about that. I also opened a new ticket for the h264 issue, since there wasn't ...
I've tried to do some backtraces on that bug lately and it appears that it's some kind of weird pthreads problem (hence explaining why the crash exists only in Windows). However I'm not a coder so I can't do anything about it. I provided the necessary backtraces to the devs though and hopefully, the...
Problem resolved: The actual cause of the problem was UltraVNC: Ultravnc installs a Video Hook Driver (I guess to capture screen content). This had two effects: a) Video Output looked bad. b) In dxdiag, DirectDraw Accellaration and Graphics Card Video Size would be "not available". Disable...
Note: This is not really a question about VLC media player, but it affects VLC aswell. ---- Ok, I have a really odd problem and I hope you guys can help me out. Specs: Core 2 Duo @ 2,8 ghz, ati x1950 catalyst 8.5, asus p5wdh deluxe, WinXp Pro SP2, DX 9.0c Problem: Everytime I watch a Video that get'...
If you click on "more info" or sth like that, it should display which module causes the error. If it is libfreetype_plugin.dll, that problem should be fixed by now.
libfreetype is there to display Subtitles, OSD, File Name on start etc. To avoid the crashing problem, you can simply delete libfreetype_plugin.dll form the plugins folder. You can optionally download this version of the dll, which shouldn't crash.
What OS/DirectX Version/VLC Version are you using?
BTW, you can check if Overlay works by enabling "Use Wallpaper Mode" in DirectX Output Settings. Make sure you have your desktop wallpaper disabled while testing that. This only works with overlay enabled.
VLC does not use .NET in any way. VLC also doesn't use DirectShow filters, therefore the problem must be somewhere in the output itself. I have the same issue. It's worse on OpenGL actually than on DirectX Output. I also can't use Direct3D as that will give me extremely SLOW video in Window Mode. I ...
Check in your Graphic Card Driver configuration if there is anything like "Enable Video Hardware Acceleration".
Optional: If you can find some Video settings within the Driver (like... Saturation etc), try to turn off "use application settings"
No. VLC does not use DirectShow. Why would you want to do that? WMP should be able to play DVD's. You *could* however install ffdshow. It would be the closest thing to using "VLC Codecs".
Thanks for looking into it... as you can see from the opening date, this bug has been around for ages... I have to admit I really don't know much about coding and stuff, but given you use faad just like some other programs, and it works with them, the bug should be pin-downable without unreasonable ...
