In the Theatre Mode the overlay surface is displayed on the full surface of your TV screen, so AR is always the AR of your TV screen in that case. Theatre Mode sucks anyway...

it's also better for temporal resolution than having a half framerate non-interlaced picture, because the framerate on TV shows is really 50 fps for PAL (or 59.94 for NTSC) the TV shows are not shot at 25 fps and then interlaced...

to display chinese subs in media player you need to have a font installed with chinese characters, i suggest the Bitstream Cyberbit font (freeware) because it is a complete font with also japanese, korean,etc...

i'm currently using 0.8.0-test1, it solved the audio glitch i had with 0.7.2, and now everything runs fine ... EXCEPT the AC3 2.0 output in SPDIF mode (it works when VLC decodes the AC3 and then outputs PCM through the SPDIF) the output stream detected by my external amplifier is the correct format ...
