Well, until VLC gets skinning support back for Windows versions sometime soon, I'm afraid I'm not going to put any more time into this.

Believe me... we (the skin authors) have asked for better skin support, but it appears no one is working on improvements to the skinning engine any longer. :( But, this topic is not the place for this discussion... please keep the posts in here on topic with the WMP11 skin. Thanks. Feel free to rant...

There won't be any further released versions of this skin until panels are added to the VLC .8 codebase (unlikely), or until VLC .9 is released. Too many functions are now dependent on new features introduced into VLC that the skin simply won't work without .9, and .9 is not yet ready for human cons...

Do you understand the basic fundamentals of XML tags in general, or do we need to cover that in the tutorial?

If you'd like, I'll do a walkthrough for a very basic skin with you. We could start with making the interface in The Gimp and end with the skin XML tagging. Or, if you've already designed an interface, maybe I could help with whatever you are not quite understanding.

Well, with .8.6b, there is no maximize function available, so the maximize button goes full screen. With .9.0, there is a maximize function available for us to utilize. You should read this thread in its entirety for details on the new features available with .9.0.

Yes, the default nightlies interface is awesome. But when you switch to skins mode and use a custom skin, that old annoying bug is still there.

The good news is, I like the new interface so much, I don't know if I'll be using skins mode in the future.
