Similar problem here. I don't use apple key + F, but double click to switch between full screen and windowed mode. Happens quite frequently, but not always. Nothing shows up in my crash logs. I'm running a Macbook, osx 10.4.8, fresh install, VLC 0.8.6 Are other people having similar problems? Thanks...
