I see the same.... VLC needs a powerful machine to play h.264 properly I see the exact same thing on my Celeron machine while my dual Pentium machine plays it fine.

And yes CoreAVC is VERY efficient and play H.264 movies fine on the Celeron machine.

hello about replacing icons I did a bit a research and it looks like you need an appropriate software like for example this one: http://www.sibcode.com/icon-replacer/index.htm to do the exchange, addition in the vlc.exe file. Maybe there are other ways or utilities. The problem you describe and show...

user controls in full screen mode

I suggest to change the way that user control appear (if this option is selected) in full screen mode by cursor postion.

I would like to have it appear (slide up) from the bottom as you move the cursor on the bottom edge of the monitor like media player classic or windows media player.

VLC 0.8.6 problem with mpg-4 VKV H.264 file on Celeron D

I have a HDTV 720jp file format .mkv in mpg-4 H.264 encoded. It plays fine on my dual pentium Dell PC but it does not play (meaning the image does not keep up at all, keeps dropping, lagging, pixel breaking) on my Celeron D machine. But on the same Celeron machine the same file plays absolutely fine...
