Re: VLC MP4 and 3GP Playback Problems.

If you dumb the information from the moov box with "MP4Box -diso VIDEO_00066.mp4" you can see that the Width and Height in the TrackHeaderBox is set to 320x240 and in the MPEGVisualSampleDescriptionBox to 240x320. So I would say VLC displays the 3gp file correct, like he should, according ...

Re: When you are streaming, does the container matter?

If you stream elementary streams(in VLC RAW) via rtp, the container doesn't matter. The used RTP Payload Format is from interest. In case of DSS(Darwin Streaming Server) only ISO Media compatible File Format with hint tracks is a accepted as input. There are other streaming server like http://live.p...

Re: [Streaming] intercative DVD

You could create a interactive MP4 file and streams this with Darwin Streaming Server. But for playback you will need a MPEG-4 Systems player like Osmo4 from GPAC. For further information/help look here: http://gpac.sf.net.

An other alternative is propably Flash.

You could try http://smplayer.sourceforge.net/ . You can find Windows binary here: http://mulder.dummwiedeutsch.de/home/?p ... ts#mplayer

I have a few questions, I appreciate if someone can help me: * 'Do I have to build vlc with amr-wb/amr-nb before I can use mp4a-latm'? No, mp4a-latm is only used for aac audio, it activate a different payload format for aac. * after I build vlc with amr-wb, what do I specified in #transcode{avodec=...

Port 554(TCP) is used by default only for the communication(RTSP) between server and client. The audio/video data is streamed over RTP(UDP). DSS is using for RTP(UDP) streaming the ports 6970-9999. If you was able to see the stream from an other computer, the player probably asked for RTP over RTSP(...

The "raw" AAC data is usually in LATM/LOAS format, faad2 can't decode that. Winamp can.

1. I thought I need to use 3gp instead of 'mp4v' when I stream to a phone, is that true? Why 'mp4v' will work? 3gp is a Container format. You can find different audio/video formats inside this container. The 3gp container doesn't get streamed. The audio/video elementary streamed is streamed via rtp...

If VLC and QuickTime can't play your mov file it is probably broken. A moov box/atom is needed in a mov/mp4 file. Open the mov file with a hex editor and search for the moov box/atom, if you can't find one, you file is faulty. Here a sample screenshot of an hex editor with the found moov box: http:/...

You are probably losing some rtp packets. Can you set a shorter I-frame interval in the settings of the axis camera? You should then get faster a correct image again. Or does the axis camera support data partitioning to get a more robust stream?
