Could it be something to do with having a large number of files in the vlc folder, over 2000 for example ?

I tested the silent playing thing on my ipad from 2021 and it does the same as my pro, so here is the log of the last two songs i played. The song "a new day has come" worked fine, but then I tapped immediately on "a view to a kill" and it played silently. link to logs on pcloud ...

Once again, an update to vlc on ipad introduces more bugs. This time : When i play locally stored mp3s using shuffle, i can select a song under the "songs" or "albums" tabs and it plays, and then plays another randomly, as it should, but if i then interrupt it and tap another son...

Vlc for my ipad pro now always displays the song title and artist for my locally stored files - hooray !

Additionally it also remembers the shuffle status when I force close it - double hooray !

Thank you to the devs who listened to my posts and fixed the problems. If only other devs would do this !

Sometimes vlc player doesn't display the song title and artist in the full screen music player on ipad. When I restart the app by force closing it there is a fifty/fifty chance it will or it wont on next restart. Does this happen to anyone else?

The latest version of vlc player for ipad repeats songs stored locally when playing despite my setting to "Do not repeat". If I am listening to music in the background and using a browser it will repeat the song currently playing forever. Obviously another bug.

Despite setting the option to remember shuffle in options, when I force the app to close on ipad pro, shuffle turns off when restarting the app.

Vlc player skips the first half a second of mp3 files on my ipad since i updated to the new 3.4.0, so most songs that have lyrics straight away miss the first word.
