For EL7 it's also enabled (as a dependency) , but it's also silently discarded because the required dependency isn't high enough. (1.0.2 is available whereas 1.0.3 is required)...

vlc 2.0.x is only on f17 and onwards (and even el6). I don't plan to update to vlc 2.0.x on f16.

Is the issue was reported to our tracker, it could have been solved. (as bugzilla.rpmfusion.org )
I've made a fix for this and now glx output works for me.

I can make it as my time permit.
But there will be a need to have discipline with the version for firefox been used, It may not work on firefox 3.6 is the standard version in RHEL is firefox 10.x

Can you list the repositories from which you have installed vlc ?
yum repolist ?

Does the problem still show ?

Which repository do you have installed (yum repolist)
Is there any repositories known to be incompatible with RPM Fusion ?

If ever you need to downgrade to an older release, you can do:
yum downgrade vlc vlc-core

F12 is currently EOL which mean it isn't supported anymore. You need to use Fedora 13 or Fedora 14.

Then you can install RPM Fusion to yum install vlc
http://rpmfusion.org/Configuration

There is nothing to suggest than to ugrade your distro. fedora 10 is EOL

Please report a bug on bugzilla.rpmfusion.org if anyone care to have this bug fixed.

I expect it is a problem with FFMpeg, but it would help to test with a later vlc version.

Fedora 10 ffmpeg doesn't have imgscaler anymore.

Just now, there is a 1.0.3 release pending, you can give it a try using:
# yum update --enablerepo=rpmfusion-free-updates-testing vlc\*

Now image problem tends to be close to gpu driver problem ? which driver GPU are you using ?

This is a known regression of the rpmfusion vlc-1.0.2 built for F-10. It has the x264 encoder disabled.
Take either 0.9.x or uses F-11

I have this card working with 1.0.0 2.6.29 kernel once the firmware is installed.
