Dear users, Due to an oversight from my side I 'missed' the deadline to update the GPG key of the repository. It expired 2 days ago and I'm truely sorry for this. The repo is being rebuilt at this moment and as soon as it's completed you can expect and update to happen, which is solving that issue f...
aberrio, As you seem to have trouble compiling VLC on your own, you can also install the vlc packages from the VideoLAN repository. If you want to install without any X-Dependencies, you should go for the package vlc-noX and it's dependencies. It's stripped down to not include any X libs. Should the...
Hello, I see your problem. I'll have to check the possibilities with SLED10SP2... do you happen to know if there is now Qt4 included? This was not part of SUSE Linux 10.1 and would have made it anyhow close to impossible to deploy stable packages for 10.1, as VLC 0.9.2 requires Qt4. I will probably ...
VLC packages from our repositories support SMB access.
Make sure you have the latest version 0.9.2-8.2 (on openSUSE 11.0). Please be aware that we do not have any influence on packaging parameters of the PM repository.. but we (and thus YOU) have an influence on the official ones in the vlc repo.
The issue there is that I was disconnected from the net for a way to long time, due to an international move. Expect the repo back in sync with the devel cycle soon (with the next release... almost everything is prepared)
Hi everybody... A big sorry from my side for this. I was in progress of an international move and was disconnected from the net for a way to long time. For this reason I could not update the repository. Finally I am starting to settle in, got my net connection back and, am now just waiting for the n...
Hi, SUSE Linux 10.0 is no longer supported. In fact, upcoming version of VLC will also not appear on SUSE Linux 10.1 anymore. We try to keep support for SUSE distributions as long as they are covered by official Support from Novell. You can consider upgrading your system. I'd just wait 2 weeks and g...
SUSE Linux 10.0 is no longer in support cycle of Novell and we dropped it too.
Soon, 10.1 is going to be dropped; the upcoming 0.9 version of VLC is most likely never going to be provided for SL-10.1
the crash with wx 2.8 could actually be tracked down to an error of wxwidgets itself. This patch for wx 2.8 solves such crashes: http://svn.wxwidgets.org/viewvc/wx/wxWidgets/branches/WX_2_8_BRANCH/src/gtk/gnome/gvfs.cpp?r1=44226&r2=51034&view=patch alternative, wxwidgets can also be compiled...
indeed, those two flags are ignored and I did not even realize it. I removed them from the spec and any upcoming version of the vlc packages will have the spec file corrected in the src rpms.
I can only second that... I'm probably not even trying to build any packages for 9.1. You know, there was 9.2, 9.3 and also 10.0 which all already fell out of the support cycle from suse themself. 10.1 is due to fall out of support cycle just now. Support cycle does not mean that nobody helps you, b...
Argh... sorry for not thinking about that... once more we're bitten by PM :( I now also created i686 packages of VLC to the VLC repo... normally, ours should have a higher version number and thus be 'preferred' over the PM ones (at least in theory, as long as we provide the same arch). I will upload...
with 'to play' I meant you should try the different options that are available. I can not tell you which one is going to work... just try the different video output modes. (and compiz fusion depends a bit.. either you had to activate XGL, then it's in the control panel, desktop effects, or you have ...
Hello Probin, Good to hear that you dare to make the switch... so welcome! For your issue: libavcodec is actually part of ffmpeg. I assume that you also have the packman repository activated? Try to disable it for the moment, install VLC. Normally, there is not much in PM that you want to update on ...
