VLC is available in an own repository, that is maintained by VLC project members. See http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-suse.html Be sure to get VLC from that source and that all the dependencies can be satisfied. For openSUSE 10.2, everything should be available in the repository. One more thing...
Hi, Are you sure you typed the whole URL right? Especially take care of the word SuSE (all caps, except u) According to http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-suse.html the repository is now version independet (so no 0.8.6 in the URL anymore) rug sa -t zypp http://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/vl...
I'm quiet sure it's the libdvdnav from the PackMan repository. Revert the libdvdread and libdvdplay from PackMan back to the original ones from openSUSE 10.2. I'm using openSUSE 10.2 64bit myself and don't have any issues, but I would never let PM update the base libs, if I'm not sure they give addi...
The current version available on the FTP Servers is built without live555 support.
I'm just in process of creating new RPMs with this enabled. They should be available soon.
Quiet late reply, I know. But two things: For the battery, I would have a look at http://www.newmp3technology.com/ I had already several Archos devices and guess what: the battery always sucks. And getting a new one is almost impossible... Except: this website (mainly reproductions.. but work great!...
Masterofmind1969, What dependencies are there not fullfilled, VLC is not using any libs on 10.2 that are not either shipped with 10.2 or available in the repository. In case you have some immense problems with repos, please also try to add an online repository of openSUSE 10.2 rug sa -t zypp http://...
dionea, I have this effect too on my PC. With Gnome 2.12, another one with gnome 2.16 I tried with X11 Video Output and XVideo, both with 'normal' fullscreen and with alternative. Normal gives the described result above, alternative does not resize the window to follscreen (only somewhat). In altern...
for the records: can you tell the solution here, so in case somebody else comes accross the problem, he has chances not only to find that somebody else had the problem, but also a solution?
I would guess that in the first case, when you start ssh with the go-command, it will be started as the shell that is dying as soon as the go-script finishes. A simple WA could be to start vlc with vlc -I... & to fork it? It isprobably a timing issue, that the go script exits before vlc is compl...
Daleb, As the packager for SUSE I would like to express that I'm sorry one of the features you would like to see is missing. Unfortunately, starting with this evening, I will be off line for several days and will not even be able to make modified packages. After this time, I will gratefully look int...
It seems unfortunately, you're more hitting a bug in openSUSE 10.2 than in our repository. Please also compare to the Novell Bugtracker: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=226084 (here, somebody explains the exact same error with an official openSUSE Update repo). You can try the following ...
Dexter - Are you trying to add it using YaST? - Do you get a message abut the import of the gpg key? You have to accept that one. Otherwise, you can try the the command (in a shell): sudo rug sa -t zypp http://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/vlc/0.8.6/SuSE/10.2 VLC And this should add it too. Tel...
