Hello Dav, First of all, I am not a SLED User. Please keep that in mind when I provide some solutions. I use openSUSE Tumbleweed and Leap 15.4 and in both distributions vlc comes with the packages. I personally do not understand why SLED cannot provide libaa but in your case, we have to deal with it...
