Is "play next item automatically" enabled in the Settings section of VLC on your iPhone?

I forgot to mention, I can confirm this setting is enabled on my iPhone.

I'm also having this issue. I'm connecting via SMB on my iPhone. I get the exact same issue on my iPad too.
