Re: Tray icon

I wasn't sure if the ability already existed or not--that's why I posted it here.

Thanks for the link though!

Tray icon

Here's a feature request if VLC can't already do this:

It would be nice if VLC can minimize to a tray icon instead of the task bar. Some of us use VLC constantly to play music and clearing up the space on the task bar would be good.

Re: Beginning/End of Songs Chopped Off

Alright. I didn't know it was a bug. I had figured it was just a configuration option I'd missed.

Thanks.

Re: Beginning/End of Songs Chopped Off

BTW: The amount of song that doesn't get played seems to equal the amount of "Caching value" used for the File Access Module. If I use too little playback is choppy and the beginning of the song suffers/doesn't get played. If I use enough to ensure smooth playback of all my media (1000ms) ...

Beginning/End of Songs Chopped Off

Is there some setting I can change to keep VLC from slicing off the beginning or end of a song? It seems like there is always about a second or so missing from the beginning or end of my tracks. When I was still using Winamp this didn't happen, so I know the files are okay.

Thanks,

Here's a clean mkv you can test with to see for sure if it's just the media file you're trying to play or there is something wrong with your install of VLC itself.

I've got the same results with ATI's newly released driver revision (12/13/06).

Uninstall the codec pack you put on. VLC will play back just about everything under the sun by itself with ffdshow libraries it comes with. You might also try a different version of your video card drivers in case there is a problem with your overlay.

Windows 9x/ME/2K?

Try to set it specifically to use the DirectX output module. Failing that, you might try the OpenGL one. You'll have to check the advanced settings box in prefs to get the option.

Make sure your DirectX installation is up to date as well as your video card drivers as well.
