It's working! Okay, that makes sense.

For some reason, possibly randomly firing neurons, I thouight BD+ was related to Blu-Ray only.

Is it on DVDs now?

Just to satisfy my curiosity; if VLC can't play the DVDs because of the protection mechanism, how would it be able to rip it to an mp4? Surely both require opening/reading/decrypting the files? (I've never used VLC to rip a DVD).

They're originals. Brand new. As I said MakeMKV has no trouble ripping them, (and the ripped files play fine). I don't understand why the disks themselves won't. I've never had any problems with VLC in the past. As for the prompt I presume there is no file association for '.IFO', as opposed to '.mkv...
