I'm running a Synology NAS, same as xmichelo. Anyone else running Synologys or other Linux-based NAS? I'm wondering something - what OS are people running? I was having this problem on Windows 10.0.9926; I can't seem to reproduce it using 2.2.0 on two Windows 7 machines. Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit and ...
@xmichelo: I was not able to reproduce your findings concerning the length of the filename. I tried anything from 1 character to 80 characters mkv file names. They all suffer 30 second to 1 minute delays.
Same problem here. Local *.mkv files play instantly but network mkv shares take 30 seconds up to 1 minute to start playing. Network AVI's and MP4's do not cause any problems.
This is what I so love about the InterNet -- it offers stuff that I really belived I was the only one to think of ! lol Big grin.. Seriously though... VLC v0.8.6b still gives me that same error message when playing a ZMVB-file. The message log shows: main error: no suitable decoder module for fourc...
Hi all, Today I rediscovered DOSBox , a real gem if you're looking for a way to play all those vintage DOS-games. One excellent feature is the ability to video capture your gameplay. Unfortunately it's in zmbv-format which is currently not supported by VLC. I tried both the Windows and OSX platforms...

In my about:plugins page there is no sign of VLC. :( I'm stuck with QuickTime and Flip4Mac  VLC will gladly play any file locally but it's the e...
Yes several people have read your first reply and as a result felt compelled to explain the AB repeat function to you in detail. Please address their remarks.
This is not exactly AB repeat. One is indeed able to create bookmarks but in order to repeat a certain sequence one has to extract the content between the two bookmarks and than save it to a separate file. This is a bit cumbersome. AB repeat as Wmoritz suggests (and the way it should be available to...
Is there any chance of DVB-T support in VLC (WinXP)? Currently I'm using a mix of DC-DVB and The KMPlayer . DC-DVB is a DirectShow Source Filter and after scanning for channels it creates a *.dvb file which loads perfectly in KMPlayer. Unfortunately I can't seem to make VLC work with this *.dvb file...
Thank you developers for all the hard work!! Your player has really earned its place on my desktop and every time I'm always curious about new features in the next version! I'm a bit puzzled though. My old version 0.8.5 played Windows Media Video 9 videos without any problem (e.g. CNN video) so I do...
