I found the issue. These .AVI files are astronomy image videos and contain Bayer patterns. Apparently VLC does not like this. It runs through the file but does not display anything. I have an .AVI file that plays nicely in Windows Media Player but not in VLC. All I see is the VLC logo. VLC is going through the file but does not display the contents. Any thoughts?
