If I understand things right it should be possible to copy a DVD and just point out the Video_TS folder to play it in VLC. I have tried this on both Mac and PC, but it doesn’t work well. Sometimes it just stops playing after a while, but most often the playback sound becomes distorted after a while....

Very old thread, I know. But is it actually supposed to work playing Video_TS folders/files on hard drive in VLC?

OK, I guess that I was just lucky last time. It does not work to playback a Video_TS folder copied to hard drive. Does anyone have a suggestion how to make a working copy of a DVD?

Is there a version history available somewhere (with documentation of bug fixes etc)?

Hi! I have earlier had problems playing DVD files (copied to HDD) in VLC. The playback has stopped after 10-15 minutes. I guess that it failed when trying to switch from one .VOB file to the next, at least that’s my theory. Has this been fixed in a recent update of VLC? I just noticed that it seems ...
