OK - solved my own issue. I persevered and did full uninstall of VLC v.3.0.12 and reinstalled v.2.1.5
All functions of edit/save now reinstated. Don't know if conflict was in conjunction with Windows IOS update and VLC v.3.0.12 or not.
I guess I'll just have to live with older version.

Long time user of VLC and after version update [3.0.12 Vetinari] I can no longer edit/save media information on my newly acquired video files.
Tried rolling back to previous release version but to no avail.
Are there any similar problems with members out there?
