Lovely idea! I and many others have been trying to make the "Save Position" work using Qt menu etc but nothing works now although I think it did at one time a few years ago as there is even a Youtube video showing VLC playing, being closed and then restarting when opened!! Definitely does ...

None of this works in later versions like new 3.0.18. I just lose my playlist whenever VLC is closed so maybe this is the real issue. My playlist is still in "Media" but no longer in "PLaylist". Any ideas?
