So far with v. 16 release this doesn't happen anymore on Big Sur.

Both with this new version 3.0.14 and the previous, if say you're listening to music and open FireFox the VLC display goes blank and you have to manually re-select whichever category (music/videos etc) again. Tried resetting prefs both on VLC and FireFox, no change. This is a relatively new bug. Did...

So the only thing that seems to help so far (not consistently) is to stop playback before quitting. When originally installed that was never the case, and I haven't done a re-install because I've spent too much time organizing my media playback options.

VLC consistently crashes on "quit" command and has to be "forced quit" everytime. This happens both on Catalina and Big Sur, 2014 iMac, 32GB RAM, SSD main drive.

Tried removing cache files, plist etc. no change in behavior. Latest version VLC installed.
