same thing, beta vlc 4.0 is playing that m3u8 but record is not working (no video is saving in My videos)

But is there something end-user can do to watch stream? Tried from 2017 and 2018 version, won't play. But beta 4.0 will. very weird

3.0.7 same thing, but, 4.0 dev vlc build opens same m3u8

what if we are on windows, same problem?

After upgrading to 3.0.10, many m3u8 won't play, such as:
https://wowza.3tcable.hr/Hobi_Kamelija/Hobi_Kamelija.stream/playlist.m3u8

In other programs and in online video player, it will play normally. What is the problem?
