Don't have Avast. Now looks as if it is an internal system error/corruption in file routing/hkey and is not linked to VLC - that was just coincidental! Reinstall hasn't worked - currently having to use the RUN command - but all this is now for another forum! Thanks for looking/suggestion.

Has anyone else had Windows10/Office2007 exe file problems since the latest VLC update was run? The only program update run since 5pm UK time was the 3.0.10 update to VLC and now all my MS Office 2007 documents/files will not run and neither will the apps open from the .exe files in the program fold...
