Since I got the problem fixed in Windows 10 Pro I am now trying to figure out how to update my youtube.lua file in Linux Mint 19.3 v4.4.8 running VLC 3.0.10 Vetnari. I am inexperianced in Linux console. Any good tutorials available? or other suggestions?

I had the same problem as you on my Windows Pro OS and my Linux Mint OS. I fixed my Windows Pro10 OS by updating mu youtube.lua file to the latest and greatist. Upgrading VLC from 3.0.8 to 3.0.10 corrected the problem. Now I can save a Youtube video as a mp4 file. Thank You!
