Does anyone know if there's a way to keep the media controls from auto hiding after a few seconds? I went through all the menu options but couldn't find anything.

I've got the same on my Huawei Mate 20 X, and I'm on Android 9. It used to work, so my guess is something got changed in VLC at some point...

I've got the same issue with completely different hardware, so it must be VLC. I'm using MX Player until this gets resolved.
My hardware is a Huawei Mate 20X with Android 10 (EMUI 10) and the Huawei Freebuds 3.

With the previous verions, when I casted my Android phone's screen through Chromecast and then played something in VLC for Android, it would show the video on the TV and only the controls on the phone. This stopped working. Doesn't matter if I tick or untick the "Prefer Clone" option.
