I wasn't going to even give it a try but as of 3.0.14 UPNP has magically started working again for me.

Although I really do not need VLC anymore since kodi with audacity + lame + ffmpeg does everything I need.

Still broken in 3.0.12

I think it is time I just completely remove VLC from all of my systems.

For the longest time I have been doing everything I want to do with the following tools and I could not be happier...

Kodi
Audacity + Lame + ffmpeg

I just do not need a broken VLC any more.

Sorry for dredging up this old thread again but I managed to run some tests on version 3.0.8 verses 3.0.11 in debug mode and I found something very interesting. I have the same problem except 3.0.8 does seem to work for me.

Everything after that can not see my D-LINK DNS-321 NAS.

Windows 10 CAN see it.
Kodi on WIN10/FEDORA LINUX 32/ANDROID PIE all see it just fine.

VLC > 3.0.8 do NOT see it period.

UPNP is still broken exactly the same way in 3.0.11

Still working just fine after reverting to 3.0.8
