Sorry to resurrect this thread but my inability to stop auto play has returned. I've reset every parameter I can find on my Win8.1 PC but it's happening once again. This makes no sense to me---ANY help or direction greatly appreciated!

Any luck? I actually want to do the opposite for a friend who wants DVD movies to start, full-screen, in VLC, but no luck so far. The auto-play section of the Control Panel (Win10-1909) has many options: Find a new app, Browse with TCUP(!), do nothing, Open in File Explorer, Ask. I'll hunt elsewher...

Running Win7 and/or Win8---when downloading a video online once its in the folder VLC opens and begins playing---how can I disable that feature?

I've searched through Tools, Preferences and Options but can't seem to locate disable.
