Hey guys, I've just found this out today. Happens on the new build (2.0.1) as well as the 1.1.11 build. I have a subtitle file, the first line is like this: 1 00:02:18.470 --> 00:02:20.360 HELLO WORLD! The rest of the lines changes the millisecond separator from . to , : 2 00:03:35,440 --> 00:03:38,...
Sorry about the slow reply, here is a snapshot of dot crawl. It doesn't always look this bad, mind you. Without filters: http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/8574/vlcsnap2010062010h42m00.png With blend de-interlacer and postprocessing at 6 (video is xvid encoded) http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/2980/...
Just to keep you guys posted, It seems to still happen with 1.0.5, but it's noticebly not as much as before. So, we have an improvement. Yes, still happens when disabling loop filters.
If anyone wants it, I still have the sample I'd cut lying around and can re-upload it.
I've tryed bilinear, fast bilinear and bicubic with one slightly fuzzy video. I couldn't really tell one mode from the other, probably because i chose a slightly fuzzy video, but there was some screen tearing. Any way to cope with that?
Tryed to use swscale to see how it looked like, and it doesn't seem to work. There's just no video output. I've tryed several video output modules (directx, direct3d opengl and windows GDI), and they all work UNTIL I enable the filter. Then, a big nothing, not even a black frame. Just the audio play...
It could easily be implemented in VLC? It wouldn't be very difficult. Basically just adding text editor to VLC and reloading the subtitle file after every change. But I still suggest using tools like timeadjuster, subtitle workshop or Aegisub. Subtitle workshop rocks d4 house.  a...
Run it trough GSpot. If you get some red marks in the small frame graphic on the right side of the window, the file is probably slightly corrupted.
Use megaupload, rapidshare or something like that to upload the file, then share the link.
Avi is a container. It can have all sorts of types of video and audio codecs inside, some of wich can be played in vlc (as well asome wich can't). You should examine the file with a tool like Gspot to see what codecs are used inside. Also: no vlc version and no OS version given. Never used limewire....
I would try to get new subs, but perhaps you can do a "search and replace" with subtitle workshop? Still, there's no telling what that gibberish is. Perhaps it's garbled text in a different character codepage (Japanese in opening karaokes?).
Yeah, your subs probably have overlapping hide/show times. You can use Subtitle Workshop to automatically fix that. Can't remember the exact menu option right now...
He means there's a transcoding profile setting for the default interface in windows and linux (that would be, QT4), but that feature hasn't been "ported" to the MacOsX version YET (BTW, when i saw the topic's title I thought "ITunes is an OS now? DAMN!"*clicks* :P Silly me...). S...
If the video is both of low resolution and low quality, it might not matter what player/codec/filter/settings combo you use. ALSO! some video card/ LCD monitor combinations look bad, my dad has a VIA based on board videocard pluged to an AOpen monitor (ASUS secondary brand, i'm told), and everything...
You can try changing the aspect ratio to 4:3 to see if it helps. It will scale the video in your monitor so it matches it's aspect ratio, leaving no black bars, unless they are an actual part of the video file, in wich case, you'll have to crop then. I THINK There's an option to set the aspect ratio...
All video cards should have video overlay options so you can calibrate the gamma and brightness. It also should have similar options for non overlay, wich you should calibrate first. Heck, if a SiS on board card from more than 7 years ago have those options, an ASUS video card should as well. Perhap...
