I'm following this thread, as I too see this in a Tab A (2019). When I attempt to download subtitles for a video on my SD card, the download icon spins, but the checkmark never appears, and no subtitle file is saved. I have this exact same problem on my shield and my sons Media box since we install...

Thanks. I'm seeing more that when a subtitle is available, i click to download it and the disc icon looks like it's changing, but instead of changing to a tick, it goes back to a disc and subtitle not downloaded.

Hide them by using the .nomedia trick inside the folder

Does anyone know how to downgrade to the previous version?
