Re: Capturing Audio in Realtime with or without Video

The driver for my Yamaha moves the sampling rate and bits-per-sample setting to its own control panel, and I have that set to 192/24.

Re: Capturing Audio in Realtime with or without Video

I tried the Input / Codecs > Access Modules > DirectShow settings. Any sampling rate and bits-per-sample value other than 0, whether entering the value in Hz (192000) or KHz (192) results in an error saying that the format isn't supported by my Yamaha AG-03 USB audio interface, even though my Yamaha...

Capturing Audio in Realtime with or without Video

I have a Yamaha AG-03 USB audio interface. I installed its driver and set its sampling rate to 192 KHz. Its bits-per-sample only has a 24-bit option. However, when using VLC to capture raw audio in realtime with or without video, as I play from the capture, it shows a raw audio codec of 16-bit, 44,1...

Re: HDR Playback - Either Stable with Poor Picture, or Great Picture, but Freezes

You should really create a new ticket on the VLC Trac with your reports, tests, the links to your log and sample file and the link to this thread: https://code.videolan.org/videolan/vlc/-/issues I'm sight impaired and don't use a smartphone. I don't think that VLC Track site is letting me register ...

Re: HDR Playback - Either Stable with Poor Picture, or Great Picture, but Freezes

According to this AVS Forum thread , the test patterns found on Sony's 4K UHD Blu-ray discs include three sets of color windows--2020, P3, and 709. When setting VLC to use Direct3D11 as a video output module and an FFMPEG hardware decoder (which is what happens when everything is set to Auto), I'm p...

Re: HDR Playback - Either Stable with Poor Picture, or Great Picture, but Freezes

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback , and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com if it's too long. And upload a short sample of your original problematic file to Zippyshare.com or to WeTransfer.com and then post the link to the file he...

HDR Playback - Either Stable with Poor Picture, or Great Picture, but Freezes

I'm using an HP SPECTRE x360 15T-DF0075NR convertible laptop/notebook with a 15.6" AMOLED panel, Intel I7-8565U processor, Intel Graphics UHD 620, and NVIDIA MX150. I am running Windows 11 with HDR and Auto HDR enabled. I believe I'm on VLC version 3.0.16. When I try setting the Video Output Mo...

Re: Blu-Ray Support

While I'm comfortable extracting files and putting them where I'm told to put them, I don't feel comfortable editing CFG files yet. So unless or until I do, my choices would be integrating MakeMKV with VLC for playing directly from the discs, , or else ripping the discs with either AnyDVD or MakeMKV...

Did I Put KEYDB.CFG and libaacs.dll in the right places?

I'm using Windows 10 21H1 Home Edition 64 bit. I installed the 64-bit version of VLC 3.0.14. I downloaded the 64-bit versions of the files from here . I put KEYDB.CFG in C:\ProgramData\aacs . I put libaacs.dll in C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC . Then I rebooted my laptop. I turned on my drive. I laun...

Re: Blu-Ray Support

My last post was incorrect. I thought since I didn't have MakeMKV opened, the above procedure was working. But when I unchecked all three integration options in the MakeMKV preferences then rebooted, VLC said that my input failed and that my Blu-ray disc was corrupted. So when the integration option...

Re: Blu-Ray Support

I was successful with the procedure for playing Blu-rays without a separate decrypter . However, I still can't get menus to come up. If I don't have Java installed or install Java 7, 11, or 16, VLC claims that Java is not installed and plays Blu-rays without menus. With Java 8 or 10 installed, VLC t...

Re: Blu-Ray Support

That's not my problem. MakeMKV decrypts just fine when I load a disc with VLC. Right noww, since I upgraded to Windows 10 21H1 Home Edition and VLC 3.0.14 two days ago, if I have Java 8 or 10 installed, it tries to load the disc's menus, but gets stuck. When trying Java 7, 11, or 16, VLC plays discs...

Re: Blu-Ray Support

Actually, I just run MakeMKV to play directly from my discs in VLC. I read an online article that suggested manually altering the environmental variable for Java. In my case, the variable pointed to a previous version. After that, the menus would run. I solved my problem by making custom hotkeys for...

Re: Blu-Ray Support

I can still play Blu-rays when checking the "No disc menu" checkbox. I forget what version of VLC I was on when I finally got Blu-ray menus to work running Windows 10 Pro 20H2 and Java 8 Runtime. But when I upgraded to Windows 10 Home 21H1 and VLC 3.0.14 and tried to load discs with menus,...

Re: Weak and/or Undersaturated Color when Playing 4K/UHD Blu-rays with HDR Enabled in the Windows 10 Display Settings

O tried changing the primary options in the Open GL settings which didn't make a difference. So I set them back to their defaults. I increased the color saturation in the Intel Graphics Control Panel. This was the only option I had left. The only thing I don't like about this is the idea that I migh...

Weak and/or Undersaturated Color when Playing 4K/UHD Blu-rays with HDR Enabled in the Windows 10 Display Settings

I'm using a laptop with a built-in Samsung 4K/UHD OLED 15.6" panel with integrated Intel UHD 620 Graphics. I have Windows 10 PRO 1909, VLC Media Player 3.0.8, and the latest version of my Intel Graphics UHD 620 driver. When I enable HDR in the Windows 10 display settings, I notice an improvemen...
