I can’t figure out how to get a video off a hard drive into the phone via finder. But to transfer a video to VLC just drag and drop it into the VLC folder using finder in the files section of your phone.

It was happening with AVI videos. I restarted the phone after posting this. The problem seems to have straightened itself out for the time being.
