I'm streaming wmv video files to the STB Aminet 125.
Is there a way to do authentication so that nobody can access that url unless it is from a registered set top box?

I can view the file on the distant server (and I even tried different servers) with vlc on different computers, different networks and different ISP perfectly well. It is only STB Amino where I can't view it.

btw, I can see this file with 'vlc rtsp://206.x.x.x/movie.ts' on my local machine (ip like 192.168.1.30) perfectly well.

What should I use then as stream server to go through NATs ?

I am interested in VLC security. Did you manage to solve the problem for Windows? What about this .access file in ..\vlc\http folder? I tried it, it doesn't seem to work.
