And what was that thing with "unique rights"? Should I just accept if it happens in future?

Regarding AVI files the problem was on my end, what happened is that I played a corrupted avi file and that was causing the glitch for all of them(solved after restarting).
Can you at least determine what exactly is causing the crash?

The very same thing happens with all the 3.0 branch too, except the latest one.
