Is it possible to use an external audio track also in the M3U or XSPF playlist?

I'm able to choose a file for "Ad cover art from file" (CTRL-L - context Information) but the selected file is not saved. Other metadata (Album, Artist) I'm able to saved.

I work often with playlists, so... CTRL-L is my favorite shortcut

Everything works fine, but I'm not able download this YT playlist https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLboQdPlIcNKfr2DUqmYYFXqVDaZjeAeyK .

I have win7 and VLC 3.0.6

Simple run:
vlc.exe file.avi
runs only 'vlc window', but don't start to play video - I have to still push 'Play' button.
Then the video starts playing.
What am I doing wrong?

I have VLC v.2.2.2 and Win7.
