Re: Ability To Delete Files (Even The Current)

Turns out I've switched to MPC-HC which can do this. I just mapped the DEL key.

Bumping this again...

I'd still like to see the ability to rate audio AND video files while playing.

First "chapter" repeats on some MP4s

Hi all, I have been having consistent problems with some MP4s that I did not rip. The ones I am having problems with are repeating the first chapter of video, but the audio continues as it should, which puts everything else out of sync. The problem does not exist in Windows Media Player or Media Pla...

Re: Blu-ray / Cinavia

Actually, I checked and hardware acceleration is turned on. It plays perfectly smooth when the M2TS is on a hard drive, but reading from the optical drive is awful. However, it works fine when PowerDVD or TotalMedia actually work. Is there a buffer setting in VLC?

Blu-ray / Cinavia

Hi all, So VLC has become sort of a life saver as usual in that it seems to have no problem playing back decrypted Blu-rays that ARE Cinavia protected. I am guessing this is purely because Cinavia is not implemented in VLC (and hopefully never will be). That said, I have been playing back Blu-rays b...

[2.0.3] Blu-ray - The Cabin In The Woods

Hi all, I just bought this and played it on my PC with VLC Media Player 2.0.3 (using AnyDVD HD). I am trying to figure out if a few scenes really do repeat throughout the movie for a reason or if VLC played it kind of weird. For one, the Harbringer scene where they get gas is found on the timeline a...

VLC for Live Production - Monitor 2 Playback

Hi all, I work for an AV production company have come to rely on VLC for media playback. Currently, I turn on Clone filter so that a 2nd video window is generated. The problem with this method is that I have to move the 2nd Window over to my 2nd monitor and then double click it for full screen. I am...

Re: Ability To Delete Files (Even The Current)

Well, like I said, it could be something that has to be turned on in Prefs as an experimental feature until testing is completed. Considering all of VLC's awesome, wacky, and highly advanced features, I can't imagine this one being very hard to implement... many programs that have media libraries al...

Re: Ability To Delete Files (Even The Current)

This could be something that needs to be turned on first... or just have only a keyboard shortcut to execute.. like CTRL + ALT + DELETE. Why or how would VLC delete a whole disk?

File Ratings Support?

Is there any support available to enable file ratings in VLC Media Player? For example, I'm hoping that I can give something a 3/5 star rating, and it show up this way in Windows Explorer, when I enable the Rating column in Detailed View.

Any takers?

Need Hardware Streaming Solution

Hello, I'm looking for a piece of hardware that can stream video or HD over a standard network. The idea here is to feed a video input into some sort of box, plug it into a network, and video it in real time on the other side of a building. There seems to be a lot of these in the CCTV industry, but ...

Fullscreen on Monitor 2

Hello, I'm running VLC 0.9.8a on Windows 7 Beta. When I have VLC open on Monitor 2, setup on an nVidia Card in DualView mode, and doubleclick the video for fullscreen, it goes full on Monitor 1. How can I set this to go full screen on whichever monitor the player is windowed on? I believe this does ...

Ability To Delete Files (Even The Current)

I have a suggestion that I don't think has been addressed. I use VLC often for file review and sorting. Sometimes, there will a lot of files with ambiguous names. Right now, I listen or watch, figure out the filename, and then go back to Windows Explorer to delete the file. Sometimes, this takes a w...

0.9.4 - Volume Commands

I noticed that volume commands on my keyboard (desktop) and laptop (built-in) don't respond when the main interface is selected. If VLC is fullscreen, or if I put the window out of focus, it works fine. Is there some sort of setting to enable global hotkeys?

0.9.2 - Can I use the Windows OS Open Dialog?

Hello, I'd like to know if I can setup VLC to use the default Windows interface for the file open dialog box. This is mostly so I can take advantage of Vista's detailed view columns. I see that the new interface has "Date Modified" but not "Date Created". Can I add this? Or can I...

Using dual monitors with VLC

Hello all, It's not very often that I need to post here for a VLC issue or question, but here goes... I use VLC for media playback in a production environment where monitor 2 may be ...

I haven't turned any on. Where should I look? My VLC installation hasn't been touched since the install, so whatever is on by default still is. Is there shouldn't on by default that would do this?

Help! DivX Playback - White isn't really white.

I've encoded two DivX videos at 8000kbps on the Extreme Encoder setting using 2-passes. The purpose is for near HD quality display on a 50" plasma. I used the native resolution of the plasma (1360x768). My render was sent to VirtualDub from Premiere Pro 2.0, using DebugMode FrameServer. Everyth...
