What is your device model and Android version? I cannot reproduce on a Pixel 8a

Sorry, I just took the time to look and it seems I mislead you into sharing the wrong database. What would be interesting for us is the media database (the setting just overs) and not the app one.

If you long-tap the aspect ratio icon, you get a 2:35:1 entry.

Between your player and your TV, the video is sent through your network, right? In VLC, to access your media, you go in the network section if I understand correctly. When playing a video, VLC just reads what it receives. It can be from the file system or a server. If your video is down sampled, it cannot be VLC's fault. We are working on a solution but it will take some time. In the meantime you can manually download subtitles on https://www.opensubtitles.com and select them in the video player tracks selection.

You won't be able to upload it here. You can use a service like Google Drive to share it.

Are you using the 3.6.0 Beta 3 version? If so, it's a known issue and we are working on it.

As stated in the 3.5.7 changelog, this version doesn't contain any fix/feature. We had to do it to unlock our ability to release on the Play Store after some rule changes. In the meantime, a 3.6.0 beta is currently being tested by our beta testers.

So this device streams and you play it on your TV using VLC, am I right? If so, it's Your Hifi Rose's internal software that is resampling, not VLC.

I am not able to reproduce your issue. Does the fast play trigger the volume gesture? What is your device model and Android version? Also, you could maybe share a screen record of this issue to help us understand.

I'm not sure I understand how your setup works. You have VLC for Android installed on it. On what type of device does it streams? How do you access this stream?
