VLC does not give any type of error message. It stops as it does when it's finished converting a file. There is no bad spot in the original file, it plays perfect, as does the 4 minutes of the file that VLC converts.

VLC stops short of converting entire file

While trying to convert larger files (above 500 MB), VLC stops short of the full conversion. In this particular case I am trying to convert a full movie (900 MB) from AVI to WMV. VLC is stopping around the 4 minute mark every time. The small file that is produced plays fine, but I can't manage to ge...

Figured it out, sorry!

Ok, I figured it out. FYI for other users having this problem - simply change the audio codec to MP3. I did this via command line, now converts beautifully! (I realize this is most likely a simple newbie problem, but hopefully others can learn from it).

No Audio in players other than VLC

Ok, after pouring over posts for nearly an hour, I'm forced to go ahead and ask... After transcoding a file from Xvid to WMV, I have lost audio when using all other players than VLC. All my codecs are installed and up to date. Plays fine in VLC, but I use Windows Media Center to feed files to my XBo...
