It would be very helpful if the nightly Apple Silicon builds were code signed. That way we don't have to use the terminal every time we install a new version in order to bypass Gatekeeper security. Not sure why they aren't signed.

When I play a video in full screen using VLC 3.x the control bar appears whenever I move my mouse. However when playing a video using the latest VLC 4 nightly I can't get the control bar to appear in full screen. Moving the mouse doesn't do anything. I know I'm probably missing something very simple.

If you remove the quarantine attribute, it launches just fine.
Run this from the Terminal.

xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/VLC.app

The only way i can get the nightly builds on my M1 16" MBP to run without getting the app is damaged alert is to enter this command in the Terminal. Not sure why this "bug" hasn't been fixed yet If I remove the quarantine attribute, it launches just fine. xattr -d com.apple.quarantine...

I record OTA shows using my iMac, ElGato Hybrid tuner and EyeTV software.
