I use sm player. It's better than vlc. It will save the snapshot to the same location as the video.

Seems to me, the above concern could be avoided fairly easily: whenever screenshot function is executed by user, do the following, in order: 1. attempt to save to the location where the video is (assuming user has set up VLC to do so) 2. if 1. is not possible, save to a fixed, default directory set ...

Another 13 months go by and nothin.. this is such an obvious thing to provide as an option guys.. really find it weird it's not getting any love. Am I surrounded by those weird people who use "My Pictures"?!

Sorry for necro'ing this old post. But I fear this "hack" posted above does not work (anymore?), or at least I could not get it to work. Has an official feature that does this been implemented by now? Or is there any updated workaround I could use? What do you need? I would like an option...
