Re: VLC Android subtitles cause video to stutter/ drop frames

I can confirm that I observe the same or similar problem. I have the current newest VLC for Android (that is available on play.google.com) running on Xiaomi Mi Box 4K with Android 8 (this is Android TV device). When I play the movie from shared samba resource there is no problem with stutter or drop...

Re: VLC 3.x does not load .txt subtitles

No, it is not defined being a subtitle by ordinary users. I rarely saw that so far. Not sure what part of the world you are live in, but for example in Central Europe the .txt format for subtitles is (still) very popular. You may even want to take a look at your own VLC forum to see how many questi...

Re: VLC 3.x does not load .txt subtitles

Thank you for the answer. But I must disagree. Yes. .txt is a generic extension but IT IS related to subtitles because of how people use it. Re: Subtitles stop auto-reopening after upgrade to 3.0.2

IMHO, wrong design decision - people do use .txt and will switch over to a different player thinking that VLC is buggy because it cannot load subtitles.

Re: VLC 3.0.2 is not supporting .txt subtitles.

yes, I can confirm that for 3.0.4 (Mac and Windows). I guess I had that for earlier versions too. No automatic load of .txt, manual load doesn't work either. A workaround is to rename .txt to .srt. I think it is a bug. BTW, if automatic loading of .txt is was turned off intentionally then I ask why?...

VLC 3.x does not load .txt subtitles

Hi, VLC 3.x does not load subtitles from .txt - neither automatically nor when manually selected. I must rename the files to .srt to get them working (even though those .txt files are not true SRT). In previous versions of VLC (2.x, maybe even in some earlier versions o 3.x) .txt worked well. I've c...
