New download link to create youtube.luac file. The latest version was created November 9.

I've had the previous version of youtube.luac for days but super glad this version finally squashed the problem for me since I also had problems playing videos. Thank you for the link!

Problem solved! Turns out I just had to wait for github to update their youtube.luac file. Found the download link through hitchhiker from this thread so quoting him below.

I'm trying to play YouTube videos that range from 30 minutes to 2 hours long but keep getting "your input cannot be opened; VLC is unable to open MRL" error messages. I can play any video under 30 minutes without any issues, and have tried changing video outputs to help play longer videos ...
