I tried your proposal above (setting service order, WiFi being on top in my case). Still no luck in getting MAC's VLC (version 3.0.16) showing my DLNA server. It works fine with other clients on my network (iPhone with VLC, Roku Streambar, etc)
I tried changing the device services order to have my used network connection on the top. It makes no difference, it still doesn't work ... (as reference, VLC still works fine on my iPhone and it sees my DLNA server)
