Minidisplayport (thunderbolt 2.0) to HDMI adapter
DENON AVR3500(NEW)
ONKYO TXSR606 (OLD)
HDMI 1.3 50F cable to the receiver

I just want to add that I have the exact same problem as jsuin. Using VLC on MAC with HDMI out to Receiver that is DDP capable. DTS and dolby all work fine for years, just this EAC3 plays in stereo only. No one is even commenting on the MAC thread of 8 pages so Im getting no help. SAD....

I have 6 shows now that are in this format which is dolby digital plus, which my onkyo txsr606 supports. Yet when playing the file the receiver picks up no surround sound and plays it in stereo. Sorry when I say DTS I should have said in 5.1 or surround sound. My receiver supports dolby digital plus. Is this software related? I will try some other programs. I'm extremely frustrated, I wish someone would help me, I've provided everything that was asked of me.

I now have 6 shows from just the last 3 months that don't play DTS and all of them are audio codec " A/52 B Audio (aka E-AC3) (eac3)"
