I just tried to put a CD in my disk drive and it spit it out immediately, message said "insert a disk". Same thing happened with a DVD. Please help.

After inserting a CD into my laptop, the following message appeared:
Your input can't be opened: VLC is unable to open the MRL 'dvd:///E:/'. Check the log for details.
Where is the log and how do I access it?
