What is the name of your image file ? Try with: folder.jpg cover.jpg album.jpg <exact-name-of-your-audio-file-without-extension-here>.jpg It should work with .PNG as well. It doesn't see the picture in any of these ways. I noticed that this method works with another audio player, but not with VLC.

In older versions of VLC for Android, radio stations were stored in the Open MRL panel. In the latest versions there is no longer this panel, where are these links saved, for a quick opening?
