I got the same error when converting a video (I was trying to do a hyperlapse video with a FPS conversion filter). Solved with a post in a spanish forum: Vaya a Herramientas> Preferencias> Entrada/Códecs> Códecs de video> FFmpeg Cambiando el 'Cumplimiento del estándar estricto a -2 funcionó para mí....

The problem seems to be related to hardware acceleration in combination with deinterlacing, turning off either fixed DVD playback for me (it also fixed the playback of any other interlaced MPEG2 which was broken the same way). However, this would be a really nice feature. It's really annoying to sync the subtitles every time again after I found the lag. Could you consider to include it?
