Can you transfer files via WiFi to an Android device?

I am successfully able to easily transfer video files from my laptop to my iPhone using VLC's "Sharing via WiFi" option. But I'm not seeing this anywhere on my Android devices. Is this not available on Android? Also, does this all have to be done over the same WiFi connection, or can I tra...

Figuring out subtitle files/folders with VLC: .SRT and .SUB and .IDX

Hi, I'm trying to figure out how the whole subtitle file/folders/subfolders thing works with VLC on Windows. Normally I always worked with .SRT files for subtitles and I'd have two options to get the subtitle to work with the video: 1. Open the video on VLC and select Subtitle > Add subtitle file > ...

Re: Step Forward/Back is laggy.

Edit #2: I've installed nightly build 20210527-0621 (VLC 3.0.15 candidate) and it looks like the problem is resolved. Re: Step Forward/Back is laggy.

downgrading to a version prior to 3.0.13 shouldn't be considered due to the security risk involved.
What exactly could happen? What are the risks?

I don't know why Lotesdelere is linking to another thread, wherein he also links to this thread, but this is also happening with me and it makes using VLC for windows unimaginably annoying and I came here looking for a fix to this

Will this feature ever be implemented? I'm glad to know I'm not alone in wanting this feature. Other media players do have it.

Re: Play all media files in a folder in order WITHOUT playlist or dumping (Windows/Android).

Actually, for the person who posted above me, you are right in that there is no way to actually just open a folder and pick a file and play it and have "the next god [sic.] forsaken file in the folder" play after the first one is finished. HOWEVER, if you follow the steps I outlined above...

Re: Play all media files in a folder in order WITHOUT playlist or dumping (Windows/Android).

This thread started in early April 2015, and evidently was a highly requested feature back then and still hasn't been added to this day. The post above me is clearly someone else that thinks he has a solution but does not understand the problem. That right there is just way too many steps if you're ...
