@McLion I checked my encoder, seems to be running fine. I've opted to work with kodi, as of now it plays everything smoothly and gives some extra configuration options and tools.

Sorry, but you should use the MMAL decoder, not the OMXIL one. The MMAL decoder will not work for hardware acceleration no? Yes, it will. Didn't work for me, tried to use it with a standard build from the repo. Played incredibly sluggish and there was no sign of hardware acceleration/screen overlay.

Doing exactly the same! Well my partner is working on OMX player issues, we found some playback issues during long periods of play, and OMX's logs are utter gibberish with no decent documentation, at least that we could find. I was thinking of trying to compile an older version of VLC, 2.2.6, maybe ...

Same issue.
Running recompiled version 2.2.8 with hardware acceleration.
Plays movies on disk and even http streams with ease, but struggles with UDP.


Did you find any work around on this?
