Hello dear VLC Community, I have exactly the same issue that drove me crazy. I tried all the audio output modules, played around with volumes and even reinstalled the operating system. All without success. I came to the conclusion that my issue had to be with the new hardware. I have a Ryzen 7 2700...
I narrowed this down on my PC, if you have Cisco WebEx Meetings installed try removing it. As a solid test have VLC going at the same time. My mp3 stopped during WebEx uninstall and the problem has gone away in VLC. Let me know if this helps anyone As a browser extension or as a stand-alone install?
Do you have some clean/optimization software for energy or something? Using 32 or 64 bits? I don't know what is meant by "clean/optimization software for energy". If you mean power-management software, no: I am not running any third-party power management software (mine is a desktop PC). ...

What is your CPU? Motherboard? Computer model? FWIW: Ryzen 1700X, Asus Crosshair VI Hero, though I'm using an Asus Xonar DGX instead of the onboard audio. I've tried the official Asus drivers as well as unofficial ones (that are purportedly better) without any fix (though, some of the drivers do ma...

Change audio output to DirectSound. There is no "DirectSound" option. Changing to "DirectX audio output" does not fix the problem. You restarted VLC? Correct; I did. Does not fix the problem. The problem consistently appears after my computer wakes from sleep/standby. Again, VLC...
I'm running the 64-bit version of 3.0.3, just freshly installed as of moments ago. Seemingly at random (but always fixed by a reboot), when playing a file (mkv, audio file, etc.) in VLC, the audio will cut-out (i.e., just "turn off") about every second for a fraction of a second. The same ...
